Volunteer offers helpwith genealogy
A volunteer from Mahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is available from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at the main branch of Youngstown Public Library, Wick Avenue, to help people interested in genealogy.
Area block watchschedules meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- Lansingville Block Watch will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the basement meeting room of St. Matthias School, 2800 Shady Run Road.
Lifeguard training
BOARDMAN -- The Mahoning Chapter of the American Red Cross will sponsor its nationally recognized lifeguard training course at the Jewish Community Center on Gypsy Lane.
Classes will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings during February at the center, and a second class will be offered at Youngstown State University on Tuesdays and Thursdays in March and April.
