Sharon resident charged in robbery

SHARON, Pa. -- Police said they arrested Michael King, 38, of Prospect Street about a half-hour after he was accused of robbing a South Oakland Avenue woman in her home.
Police said the victim was asleep in a chair in her living room in the 300 block of South Oakland when she was awakened around 5 a.m. Wednesday by the sound of breaking glass.
There was a man standing over her wearing a Halloween monster mask and he demanded her purse, threatening to hurt her if she didn't comply, police said.
The victim told authorities she knows King and recognized his voice. After he left with the purse, she called 911 and police caught up with King at his home. They said they recovered the mask at his residence.
King was arraigned before District Justice James McMahon, who ordered him to be held in Mercer County Jail on $15,000 bond on charges of robbery, burglary and criminal trespass.
Police said King also is being held on a fugitive-from-justice warrant filed by Trumbull County authorities. He failed to appear for a driving under the influence hearing in that county, police said.
