Driver pleads innocentin injury to policeman
WARREN -- A 30-year-old Austintown man pleaded innocent to several charges after the injury of a city policeman.
David Molina, no street address available, was arraigned Monday in municipal court on charges of failure to stop for a police officer, driving under suspension and failure to stop at a stop sign. He is being held in the Trumbull County jail with bond set at $100,000.
Police said Sgt. Robert Massucci stopped Molina about 5:11 a.m. Saturday on Clarence Street S.E. When Massucci tried to open the driver's door of Molina's vehicle, Molina pulled away, and Massucci was dragged about three blocks, police said.
Molina crashed into a house on Francis Street S.E. Massucci was treated at a local hospital for a fractured leg, reports state.
Molina is due back in court March 3.
Architects chosen
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State University trustees selected Hanahan Strollo & amp; Associates as architects for a new recreation center on campus.
The $12 million John S. and Doris M. Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center is slated to open in fall 2005.
Building fix-up bids
NEWTON FALLS -- Officials from the Newton Falls Exempted Village School District recently opened bids for building renovations.
More than 27 bids for heating and air conditioning systems, plumbing, fire protection, electrical systems and food service were opened.
URS/O'Brien Kreitzberg, construction managers, will evaluate the two lowest bids for each contract before approval from the Ohio School Facilities Commission.
Final selection should be complete by mid-March. Groundbreaking on the new facility for kindergarten through third grade is expected to take place at the end of March.
Women's Health Fair
WARREN -- Beatitude House will sponsor its second Women's Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon March 13 at First Presbyterian Church, on the corner of High Street and Mahoning Avenue.
More than 20 health-care providers will attend to offer a variety of information, testing/screening and be available to answer questions.

Meeting rescheduled
MINERAL RIDGE -- A joint meeting of Weathersfield Township trustees, the zoning commission and the zoning appeals board has been rescheduled from Wednesday to 7 p.m. March 5 in the township administration building.
The annual meeting is a work session and no action is taken.
New meeting date
LORDSTOWN -- The board of education has changed its regular meeting date for March.
The board will now meet March 11 in the high school media center. The work session starts at 6:30 p.m., with the regular meeting to follow at 7.
Free adult tutoring
WARREN -- The Warren-Trumbull County Adult Tutoring Program offers trained tutors for free, one-on-one tutoring to adults struggling to read.
Tutoring sessions are scheduled at times convenient for the adult learner.
A coordinator will meet with each individual and encourage him or her to get involved with the Adult Tutoring Program, assess needs and match him or her with a volunteer tutor.
