TRAVEL AGENTS What to expect
Uniglobe Travel, a travel agency with 900 locations in more than 20 countries, says travelers should ask the agent upfront about fees and what services they cover. The company offers this rundown on what agents should do for clients:
Outline all travel and airfare options.
Stay on top of all promotions. When possible, reissue ticket at a cheaper price.
Be sure the traveler understands restrictions, cancellation policies and security requirements.
Do the research. In addition to handling bookings, the agent should be able to give on-the-ground information on sites to see, recommended restaurants and items to pack.
Use his clout with travel suppliers to get the best possible fares and service levels.
Solve problems that arise during the trip.
