"Big & amp; Green," a study of sustainable architecture, opened recently at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
The exhibit focuses on environmental problems and design solutions made all the more urgent by concerns about fuel dependency and public health.

Irish-American women
"Fire Upon the Hearth: A Celebration of Irish American Women" is an exhibition set to open Feb. 17 and run through April 30 at Dreams of Freedom, Boston's immigration museum.
The exhibition focuses on the contributions of dozens of women in the fields of education, work, literature, politics, religion, culture and athletics.

Going online in air
Lufthansa is launching a trial to be the first airline to offer broadband Internet connections on a Boeing 747-400, reports OnlineJournalism.com.
The German airline will equip passengers on flights between Frankfurt and Washington, D.C., with 50 Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook notebooks during a three-month free test. After landing, information saved on the notebooks will be deleted, and batteries, which last up to six hours, will be recharged for the next flight.
Andy Warhol portraitson display in Las Vegas
"Andy Warhol: The Celebrity Portraits," a collection of more than 50 works, will be on view at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Arts in Las Vegas through Sept. 7. An audio tour of the exhibition will be narrated by Liza Minnelli, a friend of Warhol's.
Celebrities depicted range from Jacqueline Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor in the 1960s to Sylvester Stallone and Michael Jackson in the 1980s. The exhibit also will feature one of the last complete sets of the famed 1967 Marilyn Monroe screen-print portfolio.
Admission is $15 per adult or $12 for students and seniors.
