Nero dominates in Lowellville romp



LOWELLVILLE -- Amanda Nero collected a rare quadruple-double Monday to lead the Lowellville High School girls basketball team to a 73-36 win over Sebring.
Nero, a 5-foot, 8-inch junior guard, had a career-high 30 points, 13 steals, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Rockets (4-2), who have won three in a row.
Nero had 28 points at the end of the third quarter. Dana Donatelli added 15 points.
Nicole Amabeli scored 12 points and Ashley Amabeli scored 10 points for the Trojans (2-5).
Girard 77, Yo. Christian 22
GIRARD -- Junior Cachet Murray scored a career-high 37 points and added 10 rebounds, 12 steals and six assists for the Indians (6-1).
Justine Christopher had 12 points and Erin Walters 11 more to reinforce the attack.
Rachel Corsin led the Eagles (2-4) with eight points.
Boardman 55, Cleveland JFK 21
BEREA -- The Spartans (6-0), who led 17-2 after the first quarter, soared into the Berea Tournament title game tonight at 7:30 against the host team.
Berea defeated Keystone 48-41 in the other semifinal.
Amber Bland scored 18 points to lead Boardman while Jessica Moore added 12 points.
Cleveland JFK is 4-4.
Lisbon 45, Western Reserve 40
BERLIN CENTER -- Western Reserve (2-4), which trailed 23-5 at halftime, battled to within two points with a minute remaining, but couldn't overcome Lisbon (1-4).
Kimberly Davis had 17 points to lead the Lisbon attack, while Meghan Brammer added 13 points and eight rebounds. Brooke Sweeney had five assists.
Western Reserve got 13 points from Erica Zimmerman.
McDonald 49, Southington 38
McDONALD -- Ashleigh Tondo had 17 points, six assists and three steals for the Blue Devils (4-3).
Amy Dolsak contributed 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the winners, while Ashshena Stephens added 11 points.
Southington (2-7) was led by Nicole Ullinskey with 10 points.
Reynolds 51, Brookfield 39
BROOKFIELD -- Marti Shellenbarger scored 16 points and two other players were in double figures for Reynolds.
Raquel Brenner hit for 14 points for the Warriors (4-3).
Howland 42, Farrell 36
BROOKFIELD -- Carolyn Hanshaw scored 15 points to lead the Tigers (3-3). The game was tied 18-18 at the half.
