MSNBC sidelines Ventura's show

Jesse Ventura has a number of former occupations on his r & eacute;sum & eacute;. He's a former professional wrestler. He's the former star of "Predator." He's a former XFL commentator. He's the former governor of Minnesota. Soon, he may be able to add former talk-show host to that list. Ventura's MSNBC talk show has been put on indefinite hiatus.
The move marks the latest step in the cable network's diminishing expectations for Ventura. Initially, "The Body" was expected to take a weeknight prime-time place in MSNBC's schedule, but instead, he received a buried Saturday slot.
Ventura's show was already scheduled to take a break for the holidays, but that vacation may be longer than expected.
"I've decided to focus the majority of our resources on Monday-Friday prime time in 2004," Erik Sorenson, the network's president, said in a memo obtained by The Associated Press. "Consequently, the holiday hiatus for 'Jesse Ventura's America' will continue indefinitely."
Sorenson added that Ventura would still serve as a commentator during the network's 2004 election coverage.
