Shop With A Cop
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Some needy Lawrence County children got a chance to do some Christmas shopping with law enforcement officers. A $3,000 grant from Wal-Mart for the Shop With A Cop program allowed 30 children to buy gifts.
They were given gift cards and accompanied by Pennsylvania State Police and Lawrence County assistant district attorneys during a morning-long shopping spree earlier this month. McDonald's, located in the Union Square Wal-Mart, provided lunch for all participants.
A Wal-Mart spokeswoman said the program will continue on an annual basis.
