AREA ROUNDUP Mount Union drops Messiah

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Brad Gerard scored 20 points Monday to lead the Mount Union College men's basketball team to an 81-74 victory over Messiah in the Howard Johnson Holiday Classic.
The Purple Raiders (7-3) will play host Grove City today at 3 p.m. Muskingum and Messiah square off at 1.
Brett Hershberger added 13 points for Mount Union, and Kyle Karpinski had 11.
Femi Akinnagbe led Messiah (5-4) with 14 points.
Muskingum 61, Grove City 57
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Zach Ross had 17 points to lead Muskingum (6-4) to victory in the Howard Johnson Holiday Classic.
Ryan Eller paced Grove City (3-5) with 20 points, while Mike Lukcic added 12 and J.D. Collar 10.
Oberlin 78, Bethany 70
OBERLIN -- Chris Ikpoh shot 11-for-15 from the floor for 28 points to lead Oberlin. Ikpoh also had 11 rebounds for Oberlin (4-4).
Mike Drahos made 11-of-13 free throws for 19 points for the Bison (6-4).
