"Cell Dogs" (8 p.m., Animal Planet) is about Inmates who volunteer to train puppies, which are then offered for adoption. Such programs are said to reduce prison violence and provide inmates with skills and a sense of purpose.
Robin Leach hosts "Life of Luxury" (8 p.m., ABC), a look at a glittery existence most of us will never know, unless we pick the right Powerball number. Leach shows viewers such necessities as yachts with helipads and the world's most exclusive resort, where $36,000 a day buys guests a staff of 31 people. The special also recounts how Donald Trump rose to billionaire status, what kind of concierge service Madonna and Elton John demand, and the cost of Sharon Osbourne's plastic surgery.
"Rod Serling: Submitted for Your Approval" (10 p.m., PBS Channels 45 & amp; 49) celebrates the little morality plays that took viewers to "The Twilight Zone." Serling, a one-time Golden Gloves boxer and World War II vet, is described by Buck Houghton, who produced the first 100 episodes of Serling's classic, as a "very complex man, a very nice man, a very cooperative man who had a social conscience that he tried to put into his stories, and who was even-tempered in a high-temper business."
The cast of "The West Wing," led by Martin Sheen, will cut the cards on "Celebrity Poker Showdown" (10 p.m., NBC) and discover how hard it is to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em.
