AREA/HORIZON Gambridge lifts Thiel past Lake Erie College
Wisconsin-Green Bay defeated Butler, 70-63, in a Horizon League opener.

PAINESVILLE -- Senior forward D.J. Gambridge finished with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists as the Thiel College men's basketball team was able to preserve a 13-point halftime lead and defeat Lake Erie College 80-76 Monday night at Lincoln Gym.
Junior guard Daryl Moore hit three of four free throws down the stretch to seal the victory for the Tomcats (4-4).
Damien Williams finished with a career-high 15 points and five rebounds for Thiel, while Moore and junior guard Ryan Singleton added 14 points a piece.
Jajcen Harris finished with game-best 20 points and three rebounds to lead the Storm (3-7).
Horizon League
INDIANAPOLIS -- Mike King scored 15 points to lead Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 70-63 victory over Butler on Monday night in the Horizon League opener for both teams.
The Phoenix (5-4, 1-0) shot 77 percent in the second half and opened a lead as large as 11 points after trailing 25-24 at halftime.
Brandon Morris scored 14 for Wisconsin-Green Bay, which also had Terry Parker with 12 points and Matt Rohde with 10.
Mike Monserez lead Butler (4-5, 0-1) with 17 points.
Boston U. 64, Cleveland St. 62
BOSTON -- Ryan Butt hit a pair of free throws with 2.7 seconds left to lead Boston University.
Boston U. (4-3) blew a nine-point lead, then rallied late by outscoring Cleveland State 10-3 down the stretch. The Vikings (4-5), who sank 17 of their first 18 free throw attempts, hit just 3-of-8 in the closing minutes.
Matt Turner led the Terriers with 16 points, and Butt added 13 points. Omari Westley scored 17 points for the Vikings.
Detroit Mercy 98, W. Illinois 61
DETROIT -- James Thues scored 22 points and made six assists and five steals Monday to lead Detroit Mercy.
Jimmy Twyman added 22 points and Torvoris Baker 18 for the Titans.
J.D. Summers finished with 21 points for Western Illinois (2-9).
Toledo 103, Wright St. 66
TOLEDO -- Keith Triplett had 21 points and Sammy Villegas added 18 to lead Toledo.
The Rockets (7-1) shot 63 percent from 3-point range, making 17 of 27 attempts, including 5-for-7 by Villegas and 5-of-8 for Triplett.
Vernard Hollins scored 14 points to lead Wright State (2-6).
