WASHINGTON -- Alexei Yashin snapped a tie early in the third period and the New York Islanders beat the Capitals for their first victory in Washington since 1997. Justin Papineau, Mark Parrish, Kenny Jonsson and Czerkawski also scored for New York, which had been outscored 10-2 in two previous losses to the Capitals this season.
Thrashers 4, Flyers 1
ATLANTA -- Ronald Petrovicky scored twice and Byron Dafoe made 25 saves to help Atlanta beat Philadelphia. Ilya Kovalchuk added his NHL-leading 21st goal and Slava Kozlov also scored for the Thrashers, who won their second straight after a three-game losing streak.
Devils 2, Blackhawks 2
CHICAGO -- Ville Nieminen scored with 3:49 remaining in the third period to rally Chicago to a tie with New Jersey. Chicago ended a two-game losing streak but has only one win in its last 20 games (1-12-4-3). New Jersey finished its five-game road trip with three wins and a tie. Scott Gomez and Scott Stevens scored and assisted on each other's goals for New Jersey. Burke Henry scored in the third period for Chicago.
Sharks 2 Mighty Ducks 1
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Niko Dimitrakos set up goals by Patrick Marleau and Vincent Damphousse and Evgeni Nabokov made 24 saves as San Jose beat Anaheim. Marleau opened the scoring at 11:40 of the first period with his 13th goal and fifth in seven games. He got a pass in the right circle from Dimitrakos and beat Jean-Sebastien Giguere to the stick side with a one-timer from 15 feet.
