Illusionist returns home to continue his recovery

Illusionist returns hometo continue his recovery
LAS VEGAS -- Illusionist Roy Horn of "Siegfried & amp; Roy" returned to his home Monday to continue his rehabilitation under the care of a team of doctors and therapists.
Horn spokesman Dave Kirvin said the magician arrived Monday afternoon from UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was treated after being mauled by a 300-pound white tiger Oct. 3.
Kirvin declined to discuss the 59-year-old Horn's condition. Horn had been moved to UCLA Medical Center on Oct. 28 after initially being hospitalized in Las Vegas.
Doctors have released few details since the tiger attacked Horn during a sold-out performance at The Mirage hotel-casino.
Horn suffered a stroke after the attack and lost a lot of blood but has shown signs of improvement, family spokesmen have said.
His partner, Siegfried Fischbacher, has downplayed Horn's injuries from the attack, describing the illusionist's wound as "a little punch hole" on the left side of his neck. Fischbacher has said a stroke Horn suffered afterward resulted from blood pressure medication that sometimes made him feel faint.
MGM Mirage officials say Horn has a long recovery ahead of him, and the long-running show has been closed.
'Dad-iator?' Crowe, wifewelcome their new son
SYDNEY, Australia -- Russell Crowe, star of "A Beautiful Mind," is the father of a beautiful child.
His wife, Danielle Spencer, gave birth to Charles Spencer Crowe on Sunday night. The baby weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces, Crowe's Australian publicist, Wendy Day, told Australian Associated Press.
Crowe married Spencer, a 32-year-old singer, April 7 at his sprawling rural property of Nana Glen near the east Australian beach resort town of Coffs Harbour.
The 39-year-old actor, who won an Oscar for "Gladiator," was nominated for a Golden Globe Award last week for "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World."
If Crowe is nominated for an Academy Award, he'll skip the Oscars ceremony to stay at home and change his son's diapers, said his father-in-law, Don Spencer. "That's what he says, I think he'll be a fantastic dad ... he's over the moon."
"It was very hard to get the baby from him actually," Spencer told Australia's Nine Network. "We kept saying, 'Has anyone else got a chance of holding this baby, Russell?' He said, 'I'm bonding, I'm bonding."'
