YOUNGSTOWN Man who lead police on chase will face a variety of charges

YOUNGSTOWN -- City and Boardman Township police apprehended a Boardman man who they say led them on a car and foot chase.
Lee Williams Gustafson, 22, of South Avenue, was arrested by Boardman police and charged with a number of traffic offenses, as well as failure to comply with the order of an officer.
According to reports, Youngstown police witnessed Gustafson fail to stop at Willis Drive and Glenwood Avenue at 10:54 p.m. Friday. When police activated their lights and siren, Gustafson drove off on Glenwood, running several red lights, forcing other drivers off the road and reaching speeds of 60-70 mph, reports said.
Boardman police picked up the chase in their jurisdiction, and caught up with Gustafson after he left his vehicle and started to run. Gustafson is being held in the Mahoning County jail on charges of no operator's license, expired plates, failure to stop, failure to comply and on an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear on a traffic control device charge.
