Scouting report: Youngstown State has dropped six straight games since winning its opener at home against Bowling Green. Five of the six losses were on the road. The latest loss was at home against Kent State last Saturday. This is the Penguins' worst start since the 1982-83 season when they began 1-8. Clemson is on a five-game winning streak. The Tigers' only loss this season was a 61-58 defeat at Alaska Anchorage. The Tigers defeated East Tennessee State 82-45 in their last outing on Monday. One of Clemson's top players is senior Maggie Slosser, who played her high school basketball at Poland. Her season high was 24 points in an 87-57 win over Western Kentucky when she also had 13 rebounds.
Series: This is the first meeting between the teams and it is only YSU's second game against an Atlantic Coast Conference team. The Penguins lost to North Carolina State 88-61 in the 1998 NCAA Tournament.
