Former residents lead Elks lodges in California
SAN DIEGO -- Clementine McDuff Elks Lodge 598 and its daughter temple, Nautilus Temple 436, held election of officers for 2004 on Dec. 12.
Youngstown natives Michael W. Givens and Freda Dixon Frye, both now of San Diego, were elected as exalted ruler and daughter ruler, respectively, for their lodges, which are a part of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World.
This will be Givens' second term in office and Frye's first. Frye also holds the title of Ms. Elk 2003, having been named to that honor for her work with one of the organization's annual fund-raisers.
