WRTA OKs pay raises
YOUNGSTOWN -- Western Reserve Transit Authority approved 4-percent pay raises Thursday for 15 nonunion workers and for seven mechanics who are in a union. Jim Ferraro, WRTA executive director, said raises for nonunion workers will cost the agency $22,237 next year. A three-year contract with International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 1019 will cost the agency about $9,800 more per year, he said. Mechanics make $16.61 an hour. That will increase to $17.27 next year, $17.96 in 2005 and $18.68 in 2006, he said.
