YOUNGSTOWN - Nancy E. Walega, administrative assistant for the Mahoning County Engineer's Office, is the new president of the County Commissioners' Clerks and Engineers' Secretaries Association of Ohio. The state organization has representatives from all 88 Ohio counties. Walega, a Boardman resident, joined the county engineer's office 15 years ago.
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Mary Gander, a registered nurse in the Regional Diabetes Center at UPMC Horizon, has achieved certified diabetes educator status from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators. Gander is a graduate of Spencer Hospital School of Nursing in Meadville.
CANFIELD -- Several members of the Agland Co-op energy team were honored for outstanding professional achievement at a recent statewide petroleum awards banquet in Columbus. Two Agland employees were awarded Gold Key status, Don Quinn Jr. for achieving an sales volume topping 1.2 million gallons for the year, and Tim Roush, with sales exceeding 1.3 million for the year. Roush and Quinn were ranked the top two sellers in the state. Greg Montgomery was admitted to the Bronze Key Club for selling 711,975 gallons of liquid fuel, and Larry Baxter was named to the Silver Key Club for sales volumes exceeding 938,000 gallons this year.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Senior Independence, a division of Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services with offices in Youngstown, was presented the 2003 Excellence in Practice Award by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
