Trespassing arrest at Vienna air base

VIENNA -- A Michigan man was arrested on a trespassing charge at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station last week after his van was found parked in a base entranceway.
Bomb-sniffing dogs found a shotgun and shells in the vehicle, said Capt. Brent Davis, the base spokesman.
Ganish Mallian, a citizen of Trinidad-Tobago who is in Michigan on a work permit, was discovered in a guardhouse by base security at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 8, about an hour and a half after his car was found, Davis said.
He said it did not appear that Mallian got to the interior of the base. He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service.
A misdemeanor charge of trespassing was dropped against Mallian at his arraignment Dec. 12 in U.S. District Court in Youngstown on the condition he return to his home state within 48 hours.
