Board meeting canceled
YOUNGSTOWN -- A special meeting of the city board of education was canceled Wednesday because several board members were sick, school district personnel said.
The meeting, scheduled for the annual evaluation of the superintendent, was postponed until 5 p.m. Friday in the board offices at the Irene L. Ward Building, 20 W. Wood St. At least part of the meeting will be held in a closed-door session, officials said.
At a Tuesday meeting, board members Jacqueline Taylor and Terri O'Connor-Brown were absent because of illness, and board members Lock P. Beachum Sr. and Tracey Winbush also felt ill.
