Couple hospitalized after being struck by car
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Two Boardman residents are in St. Elizabeth Health Center after being hit by a car last week on Wallace Avenue.
City police said Keith and Sheila Timmons of Southern Boulevard were struck at 9:53 p.m. Friday. The two were apparently crossing Wallace after leaving a performance of the Pittsburgh Symphony at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.
The driver, Thomas Anthony Joseph, 21, of Winter Road, New Castle, said he tried to stop when he saw the couple. Police said Sheila Timmons, 43, had injuries to her right leg and left wrist.
Her husband, who is 47, had head and leg injuries. Their conditions were not available this morning.
