Mary Blige, Kendu Isaacs marry in hushed ceremony
NEW YORK -- The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has taken a king.
Mary J. Blige and new husband, Kendu Isaacs, married in a hush-hush ceremony Dec. 7 before just 50 guests -- none of them A-listers -- at Blige's home in Bergen County, N.J., reports E!Online.
Despite Blige's insistence that she wanted to keep her wedding on the down-low, she initially announced her bridal plans in November during an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
Blige blurted out the big news herself during an appearance on "The Tonight Show," telling Jay Leno, "I'm so happy -- he's a good man, and he loves me."
Blige credits Isaacs, a record producer, for helping her kick cocaine and alcohol addictions. In a 2002 interview with Ebony, Blige called Isaacs her "soul mate" and discussed their strong religious bond.
"He completes me in the areas that I'm weak in," she said. "He's an analytical brain; I'm a creative brain. We pray together. We read the Bible together. I've never seen a man who loves the Lord like he does. He loves his family. He's a good person. He makes me laugh."
Campbell dating warlord?
NEW YORK -- Gosh darn it all, why can't people lay off Naomi Campbell?
Just because a gal likes spending time with a wealthy Russian who the British tabs say may be a Chechen warlord and a kind of, well, killer, everybody goes and makes a big deal about it, according to the New York Post. The British supermodel was seen out on the town with Umar Dzhabrailov, but her beleaguered people said the two are "just friends."
Ozzy Osbourne faces likely six-month recovery
LONDON -- Ozzy Osbourne is joking with nurses -- asking two to marry him -- but will probably take six months to fully recover from his quad bike crash injuries, his wife Sharon said Tuesday.
The former Black Sabbath lead singer is making progress in the intensive care unit of Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, where he has been since the Dec. 8 accident.
Sharon Osbourne said it would be "probably about six months" before her husband is back to his old self.
The singer, 55, was taken off a ventilator assisting him to breathe on Monday. He fractured his left collarbone, eight ribs and a neck vertebra in the accident at his estate in Buckinghamshire, southern England, and had emergency surgery to restore the flow to a damaged blood vessel.
John Cleese considers running for mayor in Calif.
NEW YORK -- John Cleese might follow in the footsteps of Ronald Reagan, Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gary Coleman by making a run for California public office, reports The New York Post.
Cleese's Monty Python co-star Michael Palin told London's Daily Telegraph that Cleese is "very involved with his local community" in Santa Barbara and is thinking of running for mayor. Palin added that Cleese would "do a great job."
As for his acting career, Palin said, "He doesn't really want to do comedy anymore. He has a very active and inquiring mind."
Cleese's appearances in the Harry Potter movies will "fund the rest of his life," says Palin.
