MAGGIE CASE
School/grade: Fitch, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Federal League, all-district and all-Ohio; Division I district player of the year; Federal League player of the year; Olmsted Falls Invitational MVP; team MVP; holds school records for kills in a career, serving percentage in a season and career, digs in a match, season and career and best serve receiving percentage in a season; will play at Penn State next season.
Positive influence: My dad and my sister. Ashlie's energy and love for the game has had an everlasting impact on my life. My dad has passed along to me his hard work ethic and determination. They have both taught me more than anyone could imagine and I am very thankful for the time and effort they have spent to help me grow as a player and a person.
Best memory: After coming back from an injury, our team pulled together following a 2-4 start and won the next 21 matches.
Surprised to learn: I am notorious for watching "Law and Order" 24-hour marathons.
JACLYN CORROTO
School/grade: Boardman, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Federal League and all-district; named to all-star teams for Boardman and Hubbard tournaments; Boardman MVP; finished with 427 assists and 182 digs.
Positive influence: My parents, my two grandmas and my grandpa, who came to all my games and supported me throughout the years.
Surprised to learn: I didn't know what volleyball was until seventh grade until the coach (Mrs. Williams) asked me to try out.
CARRIE DAVIS
School/grade: Springfield, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Holds single season records for kills (257), kills per match (11.2), serve reception percentage (76.5) and kill percentage (54.6); holds career record for kills (526), serve receptions (379); first team all-Inter-County League and all-district.
Positive influence: My parents. My dad gave me inspirational quotes before every game and my mom has always been my biggest fan.
Best memory from this season: The South Range home game when our pep band played and we had a huge student section was awesome. Beating Poland and fun with farm animals were also highlights.
Surprised to learn: I love Oreo cookies.
STEFFI GRAF
School/grade: Poland, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Metro Athletic Conference and all-district; finished with 95-percent serving reception percentage, 95-percent serving percentage, 194 kills, 284 digs and 109 aces.
Positive influence: Both of my sisters have always been there to encourage me and even make time to practice with me in every sport. Just being able to watch their success as I grew up had a large influence on my athletic career. My whole family has been there to support me.
Best memory: We were MAC champs for the first time and we beat Salem for the first time. I will never forget all the great times with the team.
TRACI HASSELL
School/grade: Hubbard, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-league and all-district; third-team all-Ohio; MVP of Hubbard Classic and Worthington Invitational; TAC-8 player of the week; Hubbard student-athlete of the week.
Positive influence: Coach Chuck Montgomery. He always pushes you to be a better player and person. He expects only the best from his players and I will take the life lessons that he has taught me into my college career.
Best memory: Getting out of school early to compete in the Worthington Invitational, where we came back from a 10-1 deficit to beat Field in the championship match.
Surprised to learn: I'm a member of National Honor Society, the U.S. Achievement Academy, the National Honor Roll and Academic team. And I have a twin brother.
JODI JAMES
School/grade: South Range, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-district and all-ICL; led team in kills (216) and blocking.
Positive influence: My Grandpa James because he can't make it to every game, so I have to play well so when he asks me how I did I have a lot to tell him.
Best memory: Playing and beating Streetsboro to win the sectional title. It was a well-deserved win because the whole team fought very hard for the victory.
Surprised to learn: Besides playing volleyball, my favorite thing to do is eat! My dad says my favorite place in the house is the kitchen.
WHITNEY KEYSER
School/grade: Lakeview, senior.
Statistics/accomplishments: First-team all-district and all-TAC; Lakeview Defensive Player of the Year; named to all-tournament team at Blue & amp; White Classic and Hoban Invitational.
Positive influence: My coach, Scott Taylor. He is always a positive influence because he is helpful, a good person, and always happy. I enjoy being around him and he makes volleyball fun. Most people dread practice, but I love it because of T.
Best memory: Winning the TAC-8 for the first time. And beating our biggest rivals. It was a great year because of all the friendships I made and the fun we had.
Surprised to learn: I used to dance for 11 years. I quit dance to play volleyball because I thought volleyball was more fun!
ASHLEY LOW
School/grade: Lisbon, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-district, all-county and all-Tri-County League; holds school record with 11 blocks in a match.
Positive influence: My senior teammates because we had to help each other in keeping positive attitudes due to problems on and off the court throughout my high school career.
Best memory: Holding the TCL trophy.
STACIE MANG
School/grade: Fitch, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-league and all-district; regional and district champion.
Positive influence: Coach Tom Case. He has helped me grow so much as a player since I started in fifth grade. He pushed me every day and never settled for less than my best.
Best memory: Coming back from a 12-10 deficit in the third game to win a regional against Mentor to go on to the state Final Four.
Surprised to learn: I would like to continue playing volleyball in college along with studying special education to help the handicapped.
JOEL MILLER
School/grade: United, senior
Statistics and accomplishments: Finished season with 92 percent serving percentage, 34 aces, 94 percent hitting percentage, 244 kills, 243 digs; District I player of the year in Division III; first-team all-district, all-county and all-Tri-County League; played in state all-star match.
Positive influence: Coach Donaldson and my family. My coach has taught and showed me one of the highest meanings of a sport, "The love of the game." My family has also been a major influence on me because they have always been there to support and believe in me.
Best memory: Our retreat/trip we took to Coach Donaldson's hometown, Jackson, this year.
Surprised to learn: I deal with losing, but I do not accept it.
KRISTEN RAGOZINE
School/grade: Girard, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: Second team all-TAC; finished with 90 percent serving reception percentage, 123 kills, 137 points, 131 digs, 35 blocks, 34 aces and a 97-percent passing percentage.
Positive influence: My parents because they have always been there to support me and have pushed me to excel and be the best I could be.
Best memory: Exceeding everyone's expectations and making it back to a regional.
Surprised to learn: I plan on attending college next fall and studying psychology.
MEGAN TAYLOR
School/grade: Lakeview, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-Ohio; District I player of the year in Div. II; first team all-Trumbull Athletic Conference; helped lead team to first league title in school history and sectional title; selected to all-tournament team at Hoban Invitational and Blue & amp; White Classic.
Positive influence: My Junior Olympic volleyball coach my sophomore year, Fred Smith. He taught me to be intense about the game and play every point hard.
Best memory: Playing Hubbard for the second time and winning was the most memorable thing about this season. It was such a great match and both teams played so hard. To have the whole student body there cheering us on made the whole experience more memorable.
Surprised to know: My favorite thing in the world to do is to sit on the beach all day.
LAUREN NICOLE TEAL
School/grade: Salem, senior.
Statistics and accomplishments: Second-team all-Ohio second team; first team all-district, all-Metro Athletic Conference and all-county. Team leader in kills (209), spike attempts (415), kill percentage (50) and attack percentage (88). Served at 90-percent level, serve-received at a 90-percent level, passed at an 88-percent level. Led team in blocks and block assists.
Positive influence: My parents. They have always stood behind me wholeheartedly. And my coaches, who have pushed and supported me.
Best memory: All the times that the team spent together, not just as players, but as friends, and accomplishing so many of our goals together. Also, playing in the state all-star match with and against some of the best players in Ohio was great, too.
RACHEL TERZAK
School/grade: Fitch, senior
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-district; second-team all-league; made Akron Ace Elite and Hollywood Open team.
Positive influence: My father. He always listened to me after hard games and made ice and heat packs. He made me think about decisions before acting them out. He's my support net. He's strong and strict, but warm and loving.
Best memory: My first game back, when I was finally able to make an impact on the outcome of the game.
Surprised to learn: I am going to have back surgery, which will put me out playing for a year. I have Scoliosis and three bulging disks and have played with them all four years. I did not make it public for college sake, but now I know where I'm playing.
CARLY WASHINKO
School/grade: Columbiana, senior.
Statistics/accomplishments: First team all-district, all-league, all-county; county co-player of the year; had 245 kills, an 87-percent serve reception percentage, a 45-percent kill percentage and an 87-percent passing percentage.
Positive influence: My dad, because he pushes me to achieve my goals. He has been involved in athletics since high school and coaches both basketball and football. He has been my best coach so far, as well as my mentor.
Best memory: I will always remember beating Crestview in the district finals and going to the regional championship.
Surprised to learn: I have a passion for music and art, which takes up what's left of my spare time.
JESSICA ZEBROSKI
School/grade: Brookfield, senior.
Statistics/accomplishments: Team leader in digs (249) and kills (157); compiled 99-percent serving percentage, missing just one serve all season; holds school records for career digs, digs in a game and points.
Positive influence: My mom. She was the treasurer of our volleyball mothers club and was always helping us raise money to get new things. She also kept statistics all four years of high school and helped me play Junior Olympic volleyball. She has supported me in everything I've done, especially volleyball.
Best memory: Being the district runners-up. It was a big honor to have our team play in the district final game.
CO-COACHES OF THE YEAR
TOM CASE
School: Fitch, 14 years.
Statistics/accomplishments: Holds 284-59 career record with six district titles and three regional titles.
Best memory: I have three. Seeing the satisfaction this year's team experienced after starting the season 2-4 and winning the next 21 matches. Coming back to win the regional final after being down 12-10 in the third game. And the support for our volleyball team from the players, parents and friends.
SCOTT TAYLOR
School: Lakeview, seven years (120-38).
Statistics/accomplishments: Led Bulldogs to 22-2 record and first league title in school history; won Hoban Invitational and Blue & amp; White Classic; sectional champions; District I coach of the year in Div. II; earned Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association "Coaches Achievement Award"; coached in Ohio All-Star match.
Positive influence: My football coach at Lakeview back in the 1970s, Tom Long. He had a positive influence on my decision to become a coach. We enjoyed a 10-0 season my senior year. He instilled in us the value of hard work. He helped me to form my philosophy of coaching.
Best memory: The second win over Hubbard. The gym was packed with fans from both teams. We were down 13-6 in the first game and battled back to win 15-13. We lost the second game but rallied to win the third 15-5. Our fans went crazy. After we shook hands the fans made a tunnel for us to the locker room. That was a good feeling.
Surprised to learn: I am a fly fisherman. I spend hours in the winter in my basement tying my own flies. I think that catching a fish on a mess of yarn, feathers and thread is a lot like coaching young people today. It is not the message as much as it is in the way it is presented.
