TAC Fitch rolls past Girard for third straight win
Terrell Eargle had 27 points to lead the Falcons to victory.
AUSTINTOWN -- Terrell Eargle scored 27 points -- including 25 in the first half -- as Fitch took a 37-31 halftime advantage, then pulled away in the second half to beat visiting Girard, 73-56, in a non-league boys basketball game Friday at Fitch High School.
Mark Aikens added 26 points -- 19 in the second half -- for the Falcons (3-0), who outscored the Indians 37-21 in the second and third quarters.
Michael Hardy added 12 points.
For Girard (1-1), Marc Williams had 17 points and Nick Canterino added 14.
Warren JFK 93, Champion 75
CHAMPION -- Jim Kokrak tossed in 24 points and Chris Shaker added 23 as Warren JFK rolled past Champion.
The Eagles improved to 2-1 and dominated the Flashes on the boards, holding a 38-17 advantage.
Mark Rossi added 13 points and Anthony Alie 11 for the winners.
Champion (0-3) put five players in double figures, led by Nick Wildman with 19 points and Adam Lance with 16. Mark Jackson added 14, while Jake Gross and Kevin Ramsey each had 10.
LaBrae 67, Southington 58
LEAVITTSBURG -- A taller LaBrae team got 43 of its 67 points from Danny Hartman, Todd Rowan and John Pugh en route to its second straight win.
Hartman, a 6-1 sophomore guard, popped in 18 points; Rowan, a 6-3 junior wing, had 13 points and Pugh, a 6-1 senior wing, added 12 points for the Vikings, who had a 67-50 lead with 1:30 remaining.
LaBrae beat Niles in its opener.
Rowan also grabbed 15 rebounds for the Vikings, who had a 46-27 advantage on the boards.
David Motz, a 6-2 guard, scored 19 points and secured eight rebounds for the Wildcats (2-1).
