Outage was planned for equipment repair

CANFIELD -- The power was out for about an hour here Saturday night, and the electric company was the culprit.
Paul Harkey, area manager for Ohio Edison, reported that a scheduled power outage Saturday night from 10:25 p.m. and ending at 11:35 p.m. affected 900 customers in the Canfield area west of Raccoon Road, south of Shields Road, east of Hood Drive and north of Fairground Boulevard.
Harkey said the electric company planned the outage to repair equipment it thought would be hampered by predictions of inclement weather forecast for the area.
Harkey added that the company thought it best to turn off the power at night as opposed to doing the work in the day when power use is greater.
