Women artists to be in spotlight
YOUNGSTOWN -- The YWCA of Youngstown will present a Women Artists Exhibit that will be available for public viewing Dec. 16 to Jan. 18 at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave.
The show will feature a display of works of art, ranging from paintings, drawings, graphics, video, sculpture, ceramics, fiber and metal work to computer-generated art created by women artists. This is an opportunity for regional, national and international women artists to gain recognition for their work.
Planned in celebration of the exhibit will be a patrons party to be held from 6 to 7 p.m. and a public party from 7 to 9 p.m., both on Jan. 3 at the institute. Admission can be paid at the door, prizes for art in various categories will be awarded, and there will be live music and hors d'oeuvres.
Susan Huber is serving as chairman of this 22nd annual art exhibit. Corporate sponsors are United Community Financial Corp. and its subsidiaries, the Home Savings and Loan Co. and Butler Wick Corp.
