Prep standouts showcased on ESPN game

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
NEW YORK -- Anyone who was interested in watching Lincoln High School's 82-77 win over Edgewater High School of Orlando, Fla., could have just turned on ESPN2 on Thursday night. But clearly, the place to be was not home on the couch, it was Fordham University.
After all, the front row of Rose Hill Gym looked a lot like celebrity row at Madison Square Garden, with Derek Jeter and Jay-Z checking out two of the best high school players in the country.
And with the rest of the country watching on television and with two of the most recognizable pop culture icons sitting nearby, Sebastian Telfair and Darius Washington delivered.
But Telfair had more help, which is why the Railsplitters won in front of a loud and very excited hometown crowd.
"This is satisfying," said Telfair, whose team lost by three points to Edgewater last season in Florida. "It was an exciting game from start to finish."
Telfair finished with 27 points, and Washington -- a guard who has committed to Memphis -- scored 36.
