Fugitive is arrested after tip to U.S. Marshal's task force
YOUNGSTOWN -- A man described by the U.S. Marshal's Service as a fugitive is in Mahoning County Jail after having been arrested Friday evening on a warrant on two counts of cocaine possession.
Antoine Tate, 22, of West Glenaven Avenue, was arrested without incident at 9 p.m. at 916 Parkview Ave. by the U.S. Marshal's Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to Deputy Jeff Irwin of the Marshal's Service, task force coordinator.
The task force is composed of city police, Mahoning County Sheriff's deputies and representatives of the Marshal's Service and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.
Tate had been designated the task force's fugitive of the week. He was arrested because of a tip to the task force's toll-free tip line (866) 4-wanted.
Callers can remain anonymous. Rewards for information leading to arrests and convictions are determined on a case-by-case basis.
Tate has a prior conviction for trafficking in cocaine.
