Warren officials prepare development plan
WARREN -- The city and its community development department are preparing the consolidated housing and community development plan for 2005 through 2009.
During this planning period, community development staff will create a document including a series of proposals that will guide city decision-making on issues ranging from housing, infrastructure and parks improvements to strategies for sustained economic and community development.
To create a community-oriented plan, citizen participation is crucial. A citizen council of civic leaders, concerned residents and stakeholders has been created to address current planning issues, collect feedback and make recommendations regarding actions and strategies for the five-year period.
Five meetings beginning tonight will be conducted throughout different stages of the planning process. All meetings begin at 5 p.m. and will be in the community services building, 418 S. Main Ave. The other meetings will be Feb. 19, April 22, July 15 and Sept. 16.
