PREP BASKETBALL Holland paces Rayen girls to victory



Her 34 points led the Tigers to a 73-60 win over East Liverpool.
EAST LIVERPOOL -- Taniesha Holland scored 34 points, shooting 4-for-9 from 3-point range and 14-for-17 at the foul line, to power the Rayen School girls basketball team to a 73-60 win over East Liverpool Wednesday night.
Holland, a 5-foot-6 junior guard, also contributed 10 assists and seven steals for her top overall performance of the season.
Kenysha Tennant chipped in with 14 points while Taryn Perkins had 10 with 11 rebounds for the Tigers (2-4). Ashley Myers also had 11 rebounds with seven points.
Breezy Nelson led East Liverpool (1-2) with 18 points followed by Elizabeth Connor with 17 and Yasmin Plumley with 14.
West Branch 45, Northwest 26
CANAL FULTON -- Tori Arndt had 16 points and nine rebounds, and Evelyn Woods added 10 points and seven rebounds, as West Branch handed Northwest its first loss in a Northeastern Buckeye Conference game.
Ashley Armstrong added 10 points for the Warriors (4-0, 2-0).
Northwest fell to 3-1, 1-1.
Boys
SHENANGO -- Terry Grossetti scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Shenango past visiting Wilmington, 76-46, Wednesday.
Matt Norge and Neal Goff each added 14 points for Shenango (4-2). Goff had four 3-point goals.
Gary Hannsen had 11 points while Mark Wagner had nine with six rebounds to lead Wilmington.
