Packs are feted at dinner party on anniversary
XPOLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Pack, 2530 Knollwood Ave., formerly of Helena Drive, Struthers, were honored during a dinner party held Nov. 22 at the Holiday Inn, Boardman, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The dinner followed a Mass of blessing held at St. Nicholas Church, Struthers, where the couple are members.
Hosts for the celebrations were their sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Susan Pack of Boardman and Joseph and Judith Pack of Canton.
The former Beverly A. McRill and Mr. Pack were married Nov. 21, 1953, at Holy Name Church in Youngstown.
Mrs. Pack was an officer at Hartford Machine Service Inc. and Pacek & amp; Becker Distributors Inc., both in Youngstown, and with PMQ Fabricating Inc. in Niles. She is active at St. Nicholas and with Cusillo in the Catholic Church, and is chaplain of Steel Valley POW Organization. She was involved for years with Struthers schools and the PTA.
Mr. Pack was a math teacher and guidance counselor in the Youngstown City School District, ended his teaching career at Chaney High School. He served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and was a prisoner of war in Germany. He is an active member of the Steel Valley POW Organization, a life member of U.S. Former POWs, and a life member of Ohio and Mahoning Valley retired teachers organizations.
