MEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL Maryland upends No. 1 Florida
The Terrapins gave coach Gary Williams his 300th win at the school.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Travis Garrison hit a jumper for the winning points in overtime Wednesday night to lift Maryland to a 69-68 victory over No. 1 Florida.
The win was the 300th at Maryland (5-2) for coach Gary Williams.
The Gators (5-1) moved to No. 1 in The Associated Press poll on Monday and lost its first game as the top-ranked team.
Nik Caner-Medley had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Terrapins, who led by as many as 17 points in the second half. They failed to make a field goal over the final nine minutes of regulation and Florida tied it at 60 to send the game to overtime.
Anthony Roberson had 20 points for the Gators.
No. 5 Kansas 80, Fort Hays St. 40
LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Freshman David Padgett had 19 points, including seven in a 17-2 run to start the second half for the Jayhawks (4-1).
Ryan Shriver had 12 points for Division II Fort Hays (4-1), which was outrebounded 58-25, committed 18 turnovers and had 10 shots blocked.
Horizon League
MADISON, Wis. -- Devin Harris scored 18 points and Freddie Owens added 16 for No. 23 Wisconsin (5-1), in a 73-57 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Brandon Morris scored 11 points to lead Green Bay (2-4), which shot 55 percent but committed 17 turnovers.
Bradley 59, Butler 55
PEORIA, Ill. -- Phillip Gilbert scored 18 points to lead Bradley (6-2).
Marcell Sommerville added 17 points for Bradley and James Gillingham chipped in 14.
Butler was led by Bruce Horan, who scored 15 points. The Bulldogs' Duane Lightfoot added 13 points and Avery Sheets scored 11.
Wis.-Milwaukee 86, Valparaiso 82
VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Dylan Page had 20 points for UWM, including 8-of-9 at the free throw line.
Ed McCants had 19 and Joah Tucker added 14 for the Panthers (4-2).
Valpo's Joaquim Gomes had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Dan Oppland had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Ron Howard scored 15 points.
Big Ten
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Ricky Shields and Quincy Douby each scored 17 points to lead Rutgers (4-1) past Penn State 60-47.
Penn State (3-3) was led by DeForrest Riley-Smith's 20 points.
The Nittany Lions announced before the game that guard Brandon Cameron requested to be released so he could transfer schools.
Cameron this season averaged 3.2 points and 2.6 rebounds. Penn State forward Aaron Johnson played his first game of the season after sitting out the first five following surgery to repair a detached retina. He scored four points.
Indiana 66, Notre Dame 63
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Bracey Wright scored 19 points and Sean Kline matched his career-high with 12 points, as Indiana beat Notre Dame for the eighth straight time.
The Irish (2-3), who lost their third straight, had a chance to tie the game but a 3-pointer by Colin Falls with two seconds remaining hit the rim and fell short as the Hoosiers (3-3) ended a two-game losing streak.
Chris Thomas led Notre Dame with 24 points and Torin Francis added 13 for Notre Dame.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Cameron Echols scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds to lead Ball State to an 83-48 victory over Anderson.
Terrence Chapman added 13 points and nine rebounds for Ball State (3-1).
Four of the five Raven starters faced foul trouble early in the game, with Clint Mauro being called for two fouls within the first five minutes of play. Mauro still managed to score 12 points.
Paul Wright was the only other Raven in double figures. He scored 14 points.
IPFW 81, Bowling Green 75
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Terry Collins scored 24 points and had six rebounds to lead Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne to its first victory of the season.
Ric Wyand scored 15 points and Beau Bauer had 10 for the Mastodons (1-6) to help overcome a big game from Bowling Green's Ron Lewis.
Lewis had 33 points and five rebounds for the Falcons (3-3).
Toledo 95, Siena 71
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Keith Triplett scored 22 points and Sammy Villegas and Justin Ingram added 18 points apiece to lead Toledo (5-0).
Tommy Mitchell led the Saints (3-4) with 16 points and three steals, while Michael Haddix had 15 points and Austin Andrews 12.

ERIE, Pa. -- Penn State-Behrend enjoyed a 42-29 rebounding advantage went 20-for-25 at the foul line in a 75-67 victory over Allegheny.
Matt Magnusen led Allegheny (2-5) with 22 points.
Four players scored in double digits for the Lions (6-0), led by Jared Clough with 19. James Curren added 15 while Tom Lulich and David Hairston had 11 each.
