MAKING HISTORY: Choffin Career Center juniors Cory Flemming, above left, and Julius Williams explain their work on the sphere that will be used as the New Year's Eve ball for Youngstown's First Night celebration. Students in Choffin's precision machining program constructed the ball. At left, Chanon Lockett inscribes his name on the sphere, which will bear the names of all the students who helped craft it. The sphere is expected to last 20 years.
