XBOARDMAN -- Laura Christine Zoppelt, a daughter of Ralph and Ruth Zoppelt, 378 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, and William Edward Akers III, a son of William Akers Jr., 11713 Ellsworth Road, North Jackson, and the late Mary Ann Akers, were united in marriage Nov. 7 at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park.
The Rev. Paul Brinfield officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony.
The couple accepted congratulations during a reception held at Roby Lee's in Newton Falls before leaving on a wedding trip to Hawaii.
They live on Raccoon Road, Austintown.
The bride wore a white organza-over-silk gown enhanced with crystals, pearls and lace and featuring a chapel train. She wore her mother's wedding veil.
Navy gowns were worn by the bride's sister and honor attendant, Beth Zoppelt, and the bridesmaids, Amy Pittman, Sarah Jantson and the groom's sisters, Tiffany and Lori Akers. Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Kailee James.
Chad Hamm performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Lucas Ippolito, Kelly Kommel, Robert Buccilli and Robin Longnecker.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
The groom, a medical delivery technician with Boardman Medical Supply Co. in Girard, is pursuing a degree in music education at YSU.
