The holidays are here! The holidays are here! Forgive our excitement, but can you blame us? There's so much to get excited for!
Tops on our list this year is FredFlare.com, the quirky source for all things cool. The site's holiday offerings are terrific, especially if you plan to give your room a festive holiday makeover. For less cash than it takes to score a DVD, you can decorate your room with Fred's felt garlands or puff beads. The garlands ($12 or $10 per strand) are lengths of clear filament strung with flat felt circles in brilliant colors. It's not your normal red-and-green or blue-and-silver combinations -- green, pink, yellow and purple all make an appearance.
If your holiday d & eacute;cor aspirations are more three-dimensional, buy a tub of puffy pompom beads ($10 for 100) to string into long fluffy garlands to drape across your room. Very mod.
And if you need further holiday inspiration, check out "Swell Holiday" (Atria Books, $16), the latest offering from Cynthia Rowley and Ilene Rosenweig (below), the arbiters of chic. You've seen their products at Target; now find out how they get ready for the holidays.
New and tasty treats for the body this season
Every fall, Urban Decay introduces new entries into its collection of scented, flavored body powders. (Yes, you read that right; they're flavored.) This year's entries are the best we've seen -- cocoa and marshmallow.
Both are slightly shimmery, a perfect final touch to your party look. And both taste -- and smell -- just like the ingredients of a steaming cup of hot chocolate.
The company is also making available some of the classic flavors in the line, including Red Hot and Honey.
Look for the powders for $25 each at www.urbandecay.com, or buy a set that includes miniature versions of Cake, Red Hot and Honey powders for 30 bucks.
