College students donate books to kids

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Twenty-eight Westminster College education majors donated 300 books recently to those in need of reading materials.
Dr. Eileen Morelli, associate professor of education at Westminster College, wanted to make sure the bonus books received from students' personal orders from the Scholastic Book Club would find their way into the hands of children who may not always have access to a large, developed library, so she asked for help from her Language Arts and Children's Literature class.
Dr. William Evans, associate professor of education at Westminster College, suggested that Notre Dame School in Sharon, Prince of Peace Center in Farrell and several area families were in need of quality children's literature.
Students Jennifer Allebach, Rebecca Lane and Laurajane LaVerde, all junior education majors, volunteered to be the coordinators of the book orders.
