YOUNGSTOWN Law firm opens office in downtown space
The law firm is committed to downtown business districts.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Reminger & amp; Reminger, a Cleveland-based medical malpractice defense law firm, has opened an office in downtown Youngstown, its seventh in Ohio.
Atty. Thomas Prislipsky, a North Lima resident and a partner in the firm, said Reminger & amp; Reminger wanted a local office to better serve its business and individual clients in the region. He is managing partner in the Youngstown office.
The firm, which focuses mainly on trucking defense, medical malpractice defense and product liability defense, also has offices in Akron, Toledo, Columbus, Cincinnati and Sandusky.
Prislipsky said the firm chose to locate in the 17-story First National Bank Building on Federal Plaza to demonstrate its commitment to revitalization of the city's central business district. The 4,000-square-foot third-floor space had been vacant.
"We heard a lot of other law firms were going to the suburbs, but we wanted to be downtown," he said. "From day one, we were committed to being a part of the revitalization efforts in downtown."
All other Reminger & amp; Reminger offices are also in downtown locations.
Background
A Youngstown native and 1986 graduate of Wilson High School, Prislipsky earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Youngstown State University and worked in the nursing home industry for a time while pursuing his law degree from the University of Akron.
He joined Reminger & amp; Reminger three years ago and had been commuting to the firm's Cleveland and Akron offices before the Youngstown office opened in mid-November.
The new office will have a staff of six to start, including three attorneys and a three-member support staff, and plans are to add two or more attorneys within the next year or two.
Prislipsky said the firm is the largest medical malpractice defense firm in Ohio and the eighth-largest law firm in the state, with 135 attorneys on staff.
