He's living out a rock star fantasy, but he says he just wants to meet the girl of his dreams. So ... who's the real John Mayer? In Seventeen's December issue he tells all.
No thanks, Hollywood: "I've never pretended that I'm just an entity of pop culture, that I could say, 'Oh, I've made a record? Well that means now I can very successfully pilot a movie or a talk show.' I'm here to do one thing: I'm here to write songs, sing them and go home. I got no business being at a movie premiere or an after-party. There are no pictures of me, like, pointing to the camera on the red carpet with my hat on sideways, you know?"
Party animal ... or not: "It's going to be an uphill battle to convince the woman of my dreams that I show up, I play in front of 20,000 screaming girls and guys and then I go home. I actually get less tail than the person who is my biggest fan."
The girl next door: "I like the whole soccer mom, Keds thing. The sexiest thing to me, what turns my head the most, is sneakers without socks, little running shorts and a T-shirt. Little jogging outfit? Killer."
