Weirton Steel announces250 temporary layoffs
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Weirton Steel Corp. will temporarily lay off 250 union workers as it struggles to cut costs and emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, company officials said Wednesday. The latest round is in addition to the 85 layoffs last week and will begin immediately.
