Last year: Harrington held off Woods by two strokes.
Last week: U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk won the PGA Grand Slam in Hawaii, beating Weir by eight strokes in the 36-hole event.
Notes: The tournament benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation, with Woods donating his prize money to the organization. Woods, the 2001 tournament winner, won the PGA Tour player of the year award for the fifth straight time, narrowly beating Singh in voting announced Monday. Woods won five times this year, including two World Golf Championships, had the lowest scoring average and was second to Singh on the money list. ... Allenby and Harrington are coming off victories Sunday. Allenby won the Australian Masters, his eighth straight playoff victory. Harrington took the Hong Kong Open, holing a 20-foot birdie putt on the final hole to beat Hennie Otto by a stroke in the 2004 European tour opener. ... The Sherwood name dates to the silent-movie era, with Douglas Fairbanks filming the 1922 movie "Robin Hood" on the scenic property.

Australian PGA Championship

Course: Hyatt Regency Coolum (6,852 yards, par 72).
Purse: $730,000. Winner's share: $131,000.
Television: None.
Last year: Australians Peter Lonard and Jarrod Moseley shared the title after darkness ended their sudden-death playoff after the first extra hole.
Last week: Australia's Robert Allenby won the Australian Masters, winning a four-man playoff at Huntingdale. Allenby has won eight straight playoffs, including two on the PGA tour.
Notes: Greg Norman tops the field along with 2002 PGA champion Rich Beem, Stewart Cink, Australia's Adam Scott and defending champions Lonard and Moseley. ... The Australian Open is next week at Moonah Links.
