UIt's canine night around town. Mike "Mad Dog" Adams will be headliner at 8 and 10:15 at Funny Farm Comedy Club in Holiday Inn MetroPlex, 1620 Motor Inn Drive, Liberty. "Mad Dog" is a party-ready guitarist from that Dawg Pound called Cleveland who sings parodies of famous songs as well as his originals (his "Ballad of Johnny Holmes" was played on Dr. Demento's nationally syndicated radio show last month). Call (330) 759-HAHA to make reservations. Meanwhile, blues rock musician Pete "Big Dog" Fetters of greater Detroit performs with his band at 9:30 at Johnny's, 876 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown. "Big Dog" is a slide guitarist with seven CDs to his credit. The latest, "South From Detroit City," was released in August and features four original tunes.
UTickets become available for two shows at Odeon Concert Club, 1295 Old River Road, Cleveland. The first, by funky rock band Virginia Coalition, will be at 8 p.m. Jan. 8; the other, featuring New York club artist Gavin DeGraw and Matt Nathanson, will be at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20. Contact Ticketmaster.

USet those alarm clocks, you Britney Spears fans. There will be no sleeping in this weekend if your goal is to see Britney's "In the Zone" concert April 1 at Gund Arena, Cleveland. Log on to the Ticketmaster Web site or get to a Ticketmaster outlet (including some Giant Eagle stores) and have your credit cards ready. Prices are $77, $61.50 and $41.50.
UFor you non-Britney fans, Ticketmaster also will have tickets for a concert featuring alt-rock band A Simple Plan and power pop-punk band MxPx at 7 p.m. Feb. 3 at Agora Theatre, 5000 Euclid Ave., Cleveland.
UBob Zany, whose weekly "Zany Report" is a Tuesday morning feature on "The Bob & amp; Tom Radio Show," does his stand-up show at 8 and 10:15 at Funny Farm Comedy Club; (330) 759-HAHA. Improvisation and sarcasm are hallmarks of Zany's humor, which helped him to land a part as an Insult-O-Gram Guy on ABC's "The Drew Carey Show" and earned him three invitations to co-host segments of Jerry Lewis' annual telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

UBoardman High School Symphony, Chamber and Classical orchestras will play Christmas songs and more at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Boardman Performing Arts Center at the high school, 7777 Glenwood Ave. Selections by the Classical Orchestra will include "Greensleeves" and Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song." The Chamber Orchestra, featuring the school's top string players, will perform "Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 1 (Christmas Concerto)" by Corelli and accompany senior soloists Brittany Eddy, bassoon, and Katie O'Neill, violin, in other selections. The Symphony Orchestra, to perform last, will offer the first movement of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" and "Carol of the Bells," among others. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for pupils. Senior citizens and preschool-age children will be admitted free.

UThat lasagna-loving cartoon cat, Garfield, is seeing red as the holidays approach. He's hardly in the mood for a season of good cheer, until the ornaments on the household Christmas tree come to life to give him reason for the season in the musical "A Garfield Christmas." URomance takes it on the chin in "The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?", a one-man show by Robert Dubac that is returning to Cleveland and making its first appearance in Akron. URock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland is extending its "In the Name of Love: Two Decades of U2" exhibit through February. Exhibit plans for 2004 will feature guitar inventor and musician Les Paul, beginning in March; "The Mary Wilson Supremes Legacy Collection," opening in April; and photographs by Annie Leibovitz, next summer.
