BIG-MONEY ITEMS \ Pennsylvania
The House approved a $373 billion spending plan Monday that includes some big-money items for Pennsylvania projects:
$58.7 million in rail projects, including: $14 million for the Schuylkill Valley Metro in Philadelphia; $10 million for the North Shore Connector in Pittsburgh; $32.2 million for the light rail reconstruction second stage in Pittsburgh and $2.5 million for rail service between Scranton and New York City.
$40 million for the construction of a Port of Philadelphia marine cargo terminal for high-speed military sealift and other military purposes.
$26 million for a new federal courthouse in Harrisburg.
$20 million to the state education department, mostly to help low-performing schools.
$10.9 million for sewer infrastructure upgrades and other water treatment issues statewide.
$2 million for the Pittsburgh to Greensburg Maglev project.
