Beard took just eight shots, but had eight assists for the Blue Devils (5-1). Monique Currie, Mistie Bass and Jessica Foley added 13 points apiece. Cotelia Bond-Young and Tonia Brown had 10 points apiece for Wake Forest (3-3).

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kendra Wecker had 20 points and 16 rebounds for her 26th career double-double for Kansas State in the first round of the Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic. Laurie Koehn, six of eight from 3-point range, also had 20. Nicole Ohlde and Brie Madden added 12 points apiece for Kansas State (4-2). The Wildcats won for the 11th straight time in their own tournament and got their 22nd consecutive regular-season home victory. Tyeisha Brown led Sacramento State (0-6) with 11 points.

Nikita Bell added 12 points and Jessica Sell 11 for the Tar Heels (6-0) Nicole Rhem scored 21 points for South Carolina State (1-3). Sell made all three of her 3-point attempts for the Tar Heels, who dominated the boards 50-31.

Marita Payne added 14 points for the Tigers (4-2), and Louise Emeagi had a career-high eight assists. Yanumbe Sherman paced the Aggies (1-3) with 22 points, and Shareka Glover added 17.
