NCAA DIVISION II PLAYOFFS North Dakota, Grand Valley State gain title game

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- John Bowenkamp led North Dakota into the NCAA Division II title game next Saturday, by throwing three touchdown passes Saturday in the Sioux's 29-22 victory over North Alabama.
Jeff Glas kicked three field goals to help North Dakota (12-1) advance to the championship game in Florence, Ala., against Grand Valley State, a 31-3 winner over Texas A & amp;M-Kingsville.
Bowenkamp had scoring passes of 30 yards to Travis Lueck, 5 yards to David Wisthoff, and 15 yards to Matt Vanderpan. The scoring pass to Vanderpan came on a fake field goal midway through the fourth quarter, giving North Dakota a 26-9 lead.
Hall keys N. Alabama
Will Hall, a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy awarded annually to the top player in Division II, threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score for North Alabama (13-1).
Glas kicked field goals of 27, 45 and 32 yards.
The Sioux scored on their first play from scrimmage and never trailed. After Travis Lueck returned a punt 48 yards to the North Alabama 30, Bowenkamp hooked up with Lueck on a post pattern.
The Sioux led 19-3 at half. North Alabama managed only a 21-yard field goal by Travis Johnston.
The Lions drove 90 yards in 11 plays, capped by Hall's 1-yard run on the second play of the fourth quarter, to pull to 19-10.
Grand Valley St. 31, Texas A & amp;M-Kingsville 3
KINGSVILLE, Texas -- Michael Tennessee ran for 155 yards to help defending NCAA Division II champion Grand Valley State beat Texas A & amp;M-Kingsville on to advance to the title game for the third straight year.
Quarterback Cullen Finnerty added 117 yards rushing for Grand Valley State (13-1), which will face North Dakota (12-1) in a rematch of the 2002 championship game next week in Florence, Ala.
Tennessee carried 37 times and scored on runs of 15 and 30 yards. Finnerty had TD runs of 20 and 3 yards, and also completed eight of 17 passes for 54 yards.
