DIVISION III St. John's, RPI earn semifinal berths

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Ryan Keating rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another to help St. John's defeat Linfield 31-25 on Saturday and advance to the NCAA Division III semifinals.
Keating opened the scoring with a 1-yard run about halfway through the first quarter, then added a 14-yard scoring run early in the fourth.
His 8-yard scoring pass to Josh Nelson in the second quarter helped the Johnnies to an early 14-3 lead.
The Johnnies play Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute next Saturday in Collegeville. RPI beat Ithaca 21-16 Saturday.
St. John's, ranked No. 2 when the playoffs began, had its hands full with Linfield, an Oregon team that, like the Johnnies, entered the game unbeaten at 11-0.
Casey Allen caught two touchdown passes from Tyler Matthews, the second -- late in the first half -- giving Linfield a 15-14 lead. A 34-yard field goal a half-minute later by Brandon Keller gave St. John's a 17-15 lead at the half.
RPI 21, Ithaca 16
TROY, N.Y. -- Dan Cole threw for 268 and three touchdowns to lead RPI to victory over Ithaca in the NCAA Division III regional final.
Ithaca (10-3) pulled within 21-16 with 3:42 left when Pete Celebre scored on a 1-yard run to cap a 10-play, 66-yard drive.
Ithaca regained the ball on an interception, but Josh Felicetti was intercepted on a fourth-and-six play and the Engineers ran out the clock for the win.
RPI (11-1) took an early 14-0 lead, scoring touchdowns on each of their first two possessions. Cole connected with Pat Hughes for a 59-yard touchdown and completed a 37-yard scoring pass to Jon Branche.
Bridgewater-Lycoming
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Lycoming College's NCAA Division III quarterfinal game against Bridgewater of Virginia was postponed Saturday because of snow.
The game was pushed back to today, with the winner advancing to face Mount Union in the semifinals. Mount Union beat Wheaton 56-10.
Bridgewater is 11-1, and Lycoming 9-1.
