REP. PHIL ENGLISH Disappointed with Bush

U.S. Rep. Phil English, R-3rd, of Erie, has expressed disappointment over President Bush's decision to terminate protections against steel imports. "There is no question that the American steel industry fell victim to a surge in unfairly traded imports from a number of our trading partners, and it was our legal right to respond as the president did by imposing the safeguard program," English said. English urged Congress to enact the Trade Law Reform Act he is sponsoring, which he said would strengthen domestic trade laws and protect American business from unfair trade.
