JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Matt Walsh scored 19 points to lead No. 2 Florida to a 59-39 victory over Central Florida on Thursday night.
Florida (4-0) won the first basketball game played at Jacksonville's brand-new Veterans Memorial Arena, where an NCAA regional will be played in 2006.
The Gators led 35-20 at halftime and scored the first 10 points of the second half, four from David Lee, who finished with seven points and five rebounds.
Josh Bodden had 14 points for the Golden Knights (2-2), who did not attempt a free throw in the game.
No. 8 Texas 103, Wofford 72
AUSTIN, Texas -- Brandon Mouton scored 20 points to lead six Texas players in double figures.
The Longhorns (4-0) topped 100 points for the second time in a string of early season tune-ups. Kenny Taylor scored 13 points, Brad Buckman and Royal Ivey each had 11 and Sydmill Harris and Brian Boddicker each scored 10 for the Longhorns, who have won 19 straight home games.
Wis.-Green Bay 70, Chicago St. 65
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. -- Javier Mendiburu made two baskets in the final 1:04 and Brandon Morris sank two free throws with 5.6 seconds remaining for UW-Green Bay.
The Phoenix (2-3) won their 10th straight game over the Cougars and second straight at home.
Morris led Green Bay with 18 points, including 11 in the second half, and Matt Rohde had 14. Mendiburu finished with nine points and six assists.
Craig Franklin led Chicago State (1-4) with 28 points, tying a career high, including six 3-pointers, a career best.
Marshall 79, Radford 77
RADFORD, Va. -- Mark Patton scored 19 points, including two free throws with 10 seconds remaining, to cap a 13-5 run for Marshall.
After trailing by 10 points in the second half, Patton made a layup to give the Thundering Herd (3-3) their first lead 74-72 with 2:50 remaining. Marshall extended the lead to 77-73 on Eric Smith's 3-pointer with 2:02 to go.
Marvin Black and Ronny Dawn scored 20 points apiece for the Thundering Herd. Patton grabbed 10 rebounds.
