Refunds for patients
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Pennsylvania residents who were prescribed the cancer-fighting drugs Taxol or Paclitaxel, received them between Jan. 1, 1999, and Feb. 28, 2003, and paid a co-payment or paid for the drugs on their own are entitled to a refund, according to Pa. state Rep. Rod Wilt, R-17th, of Greenville.
The refunds are being made under a settlement between the drug manufacturer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and the state attorney general's office to resolve allegations the company manipulated the patent process to extend its monopoly on Taxol.
