Panda jubilee is celebrated at dinner

XAUSTINTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Alex Panda, 5623 Norquest Blvd., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a dinner Nov. 29 at Sunshine Buffet in Niles.
The event was hosted by the honorees' children and spouses, Lori and Mike Chizmar and Becky and Tim Pennell, all of Austintown, and Bob and Lori Panda of Columbus.
The former Martha Kaglik and Mr. Panda exchanged marriage vows during a ceremony Dec. 1, 1953.
Mrs. Panda, a homemaker, is a member of First United Methodist Church of West Austintown. She was a leader in the Lake to River Girl Scout Council, a teacher for the church Bible school and was involved in Parent-Teacher Association.
Mr. Panda is retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Youngstown and served in the U.S. Army and Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Panda also was a volunteer fireman in Austintown Township. He had traveled with a missionary group to Central America to help build churches.
The family circle includes six grandchildren.
