School board plans meeting to dedicate gym
McDONALD -- The board of education will have a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the high school commons area to dedicate the high school gymnasium in honor of a former school employee.
The name of the person to be honored is being withheld until the dedication ceremony, schools Treasurer Thomas Radabaugh said.
The board also will officially honor Connie Marion, for whom the high school pool has been named. Marion was guidance counselor and started the Royal Swans Synchronized Swim Club.
The new Roosevelt Elementary School will be dedicated to former schools superintendent William Rea, who retired from the district in 1974, and had been a teacher and administrator with the school district since 1935. The board's regular meeting, which had been scheduled for Monday, will be rescheduled for later this month.
